Believing that community pride is the genesis of economic growth and prosperity, SCEDA works to build a wholesome, livable community in which the entrepreneurial spirit will flourish and soar.  We support academic excellence in our schools, safe streets, adequate transportation facilities, transit-oriented commercial office development, and upscale restaurants and shopping centers.  We lobby government at all levels to adopt policies and procedures that support smart economic growth.  We have adopted three schools, and we support efforts to attract more international trade and commerce to Prince George’s County. 

As a member of the Board of Directors of the Prince George’s County Economic Development Corporation, we monitor significant trends and developments countywide and assess their impact upon our members and our community.  As a member of the National Harbor L/MBE Oversight Committee, we fight for equal access and opportunities for small and minority owned businesses to compete for contracting and employment opportunities.  As a member of the Andrews AFB Business and Community Alliance, we participate in discussions of the future impact that BRAC and the Andrews Technology and Business Corridor will have on our economy.  In partnership with the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Education and Business Alliance, we collaborate to achieve shared goals and objectives.  As a SCEDA member, you participate in and benefit directly from these efforts.
